Transport Resource Planner
Temporary to Permanent Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Transport Resource Planner to join a busy and fast-paced transport operation in Stoke on Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual with strong planning skills to play a key role in ensuring the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles and trailers while maintaining high levels of customer service and operational efficiency.

Hours: Full Time – Rotating Shifts (06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00 and 12:00-20:00)
Pay Rate: £15.51 per hour

Key Responsibilities of this Transport Planner:
- Produce and manage daily transport resource plans to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Allocate drivers, vehicles and trailers effectively to maximise operational efficiency.
- Monitor transport operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain service levels.
- Manage driver availability, annual leave and agency requirements.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Support transport administration, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all planning activities are carried out in line with company procedures and legislative requirements.
- Previous experience within a transport planning or resource planning role.
- Strong geographical knowledge and route planning capability.
- Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using TachoMaster and Paragon systems is essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with a customer-focused approach.
