Job Description
Pertemps are recruiting Ad Hoc Evening Library Advisors for temporary ongoing work across Edinburgh libraries.
π Location: Edinburgh β various library locations
π Hours of work: Evening shifts (17:00β20:00) offered as required
π· Pay rate: Β£14.51 per hour
π Duration: Temporary ongoing
π Immediate start
A PVG Certificate is required (Β£59 for a new application or Β£18 to update an existing certificate).
The Role
You will provide ad hoc cover across library branches, supporting daily operations and assisting members of the public.
Duties include:
β’ Providing customer service to library users
β’ Supporting day-to-day library operations
β’ Assisting with council services, including bus pass applications
β’ Helping visitors use computers, online services and digital resources
β’ Supporting community activities and events
β’ Maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment
Requirements
β’ Strong communication and customer service skills
β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
β’ Flexible availability and willingness to work across different locations
β’ Comfortable working varied shifts offered via text notification system
