Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join a thriving manufacturing company based in Basingstoke due to business expansion.  The successful candidate will be working alongside the Senior Buyer with opportunity to develop within this position.



Responsibilities as a Buyer:

• Responsible for managing critical purchasing activities

• Researching and identifying potential suppliers across relevant categories

• Comparing and evaluating supplier quotation to ensure best value and suitability

• Negotiating commercial terms, pricing and supply agreements

• Tracking purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services

• Prepare cost analysis and procurement reports

• Monitoring stock levels and placing orders based on ERP driven demand

Requirements:

• Proven purchasing experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of sourcing, vendor management and purchase process

• Ability to understand technical drawings

• Confident MS Office user

• Experience with ERP/MRP software such as Sage or SAP

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

The Buyer Role:

• Starting salary of £33,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

• Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

• 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
