What you’ll be doing:
As a Buying Assistant, you’ll be right at the heart of the buying function, helping to drive sales and profit through:
- Supporting the Senior Buying team to deliver sales, margin and stock targets
- Assisting with sourcing, developing and managing product ranges and promotional offers
- Liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate product and range data
- Monitoring competitor activity and market trends
- Researching, analysing and interpreting data to support buying decisions
- Ensuring administrative, financial and system processes are completed accurately and on time
- Producing regular information and updates for stores
- Working closely with retail teams to ensure new ranges launch smoothly in stores
What we’re looking for:
- A clear interest in retail and buying, with good commercial awareness
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with suppliers and internal teams
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
- Strong numerical, analytical and written skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel, including formulas and graphs

The details:
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45am – 5:30pm
- Location: Plymouth, Devon
- Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12 week probation)
