Job Description
ROLE: Mechanical Buyer
LOCATION: Eastbourne
HOURS: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday
SALARY: £34K - £36K (pending on experience)

- Source and procure mechanical parts, equipment, and services in line with project specifications
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers to achieve best value
- Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business needs
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to understand procurement requirements
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes
- Resolve supply chain issues, including delays, shortages, or quality concerns
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a mechanical, engineering, or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and supply chains
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using procurement or ERP systems
