Job Description

We are looking for a Supply Interruption Analyst to join Thames Water on a permanent basis. 

As a Supply Interruption Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Strategy, Performance, Risk and Assurance Team, who assesses and validates Supply Interruptions (SI3) for incidents impacting multiple properties, and Low Pressure to ensure regulatory compliance, and internal and external reporting requirements are met.

Your work will verify typically 98% of Thames Water’s SI3 performance.   
The role holder will be meticulous with all data preparatory activities to ensure accurate information is provided within all multiple property supply interruption verifications.

Location: Hybrid – Clearwater Court

Hours: Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00pm

What you will be doing as a Supply Interruptions Analyst 
  • Investigate supply interruptions using multiple systems (e.g. Salesforce, GIS, telemetry) to determine root cause, impact, and duration.  
    • Analyse operational and network data to understand the scale of disruption across affected properties. 
    • Build and apply hydraulic models to estimate isolation times and customer impact.
    • Produce detailed verification packs with supporting evidence for external audit review.
    • Document findings clearly, including causes, duration, and extent of each interruption.
    • Identify missed opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement and learning.
    • Work collaboratively to manage workload backlogs while maintaining data accuracy.
    • Liaise with customer compensation teams to support fair and accurate outcomes.
    • Provide insights to senior management on trends, risks, and performance improvements.
    • Work with Area Managers to address data gaps and improve operational records.
    • Offer technical support and guidance to the wider team as needed.

 The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role is: 
  • You will be a self-motivated, logical individual with an analytical “can-do” mindset 
    • You will have experience in use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in an analytical role.
    • Experience and knowledge of working with databases, data analysis, and reporting.
    • Ability to learn new tools and techniques quickly.
    • You will have a strong analytical background.
    • You will be proficient with Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel.

The desirable criteria which would be beneficial for the role are: 
  • Hydraulics experience.
    • Experience working within regulatory reporting.
    • Salesforce, power-apps, power-bi, GIS, pi-vision flow telemetry, Data Gate; Data Viewer and WaterCore familiarisation.
