Job Description
Immediate start preferred. Possession of full driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel both inside and outside the council area as required
Purpose
To independently chair Child Protection Conferences, ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, promote the participation of children and families, and oversee effective multi-agency safeguarding planning.
Key Responsibilities
Chair Initial and Review Child Protection Conferences.
Ensure children's views are represented and considered.
Scrutinise assessments and plans to ensure they are evidence-based.
Challenge poor practice and escalate concerns when necessary.
Monitor the effectiveness of Child Protection Plans.
Ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local safeguarding procedures.
Work collaboratively with social care, education, health, police and partner agencies.
Produce accurate records and decisions from conferences.
Essential Requirements
Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
Significant post-qualifying safeguarding experience.
Experience of chairing complex multi-agency meetings.
Knowledge of Working Together to Safeguard Children and child protection legislation.
