Fault Reporting Operative
Location: Leeds
Salary: £15.28 - £16.73 per hour
Hours: Full Time, Offie Baased,  Monday to Friday, 8:00am and 6:00pm
Contract: Temp, 13-month Maternity Cover
Start Date: 1st July 2026
 
We are recruiting for a Fault Reporting Operative to join the Fault Reporting team within the Customer Service Directorate of a major energy network operator.

Whilst the team sits within Customer Service, this is not a traditional customer service role. The position is focused on the accurate processing, auditing and analysis of Low Voltage fault information and supporting operational activities across the business.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately input complex Low Voltage fault reports into the Outage Management System.
    • Audit Low Voltage fault reports to ensure compliance with business requirements.
    • Correct and amend fault reports identified through audit processes.
    • Analyse system data and site information.
    • Interrogate Low Voltage network records.
    • Input and maintain data within MS Access databases.
    • Prepare data for annual Quality of Service regulatory submissions.
    • Support wider business activities relating to Customer Service and 12-hour restoration targets.

  • Strong IT and data entry skills.
    • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to interpret information and identify discrepancies.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 A Levels or an equivalent NVQ, Business qualification or ILM qualification.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
 
Desirable Experience
  • Previous office-based experience.
    • Experience using Outage Management Systems.
    • Knowledge of Low Voltage network operations.
