Children's Social Worker, Fostering Support Team, Southend

Location: Southend-on-Sea
Rate per hour: £38 per hour
Working Arrangements: Hybrid, 30 Hours per Week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join a Fostering Support Team on a part-time basis.

This role is ideal for a social worker with current fostering experience who is passionate about supporting foster carers and ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people in care.

About the role:

• Provide ongoing support, supervision, and guidance to foster carers.
• Manage a caseload of fostering households, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
• Undertake foster carer reviews, assessments, and support visits.
• Work closely with children, foster carers, families, and partner agencies to promote placement stability.
• Contribute to care planning and permanency planning for children in foster care.
• Identify support needs and coordinate appropriate interventions and services.
• Complete accurate assessments, reports, and case recordings within required timescales.
• Participate in meetings, reviews, and multi-agency discussions.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed effectively and in line with statutory guidance.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Current experience working within a Fostering Team is essential.
• Candidates without current fostering social work experience will not be considered.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding legislation, and statutory guidance.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
