Lead Child Protection Practitioner – West Midlands
Location: West Midlands
Bases: Leamington Justice Centre (South of the County) or Nuneaton Justice Centre (North of the County)
Pay Rate: £38.00 per hour
Job Type: Locum | Full-Time

Pertemps is recruiting for experienced Lead Child Protection Practitioners to join a well-established local authority in the West Midlands.
This is a non-case-holding role, offering the opportunity to provide leadership, guidance and oversight to frontline Child Protection teams while supporting high-quality practice and positive outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide practice leadership and professional support to Child Protection teams.
    • Offer guidance on complex safeguarding and child protection matters.
    • Support quality assurance and promote best practice across the service.
    • Chair meetings and contribute to strategy discussions where required.
    • Mentor and coach social workers to support professional development.
    • Ensure statutory responsibilities and performance standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
    • Significant experience within Child Protection services.
    • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
    • Ability to lead, support and influence frontline practice.
    • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
