Job Description

Key Stage 2 Teacher – SEMH School, Solihull
Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference? A specialist SEMH school in Solihull is looking for a committed teacher to support primary-aged pupils who face social, emotional and mental health challenges.
This role would suit a teacher who can deliver engaging lessons while understanding that pupils may need additional support to manage their emotions, build positive relationships and overcome barriers to learning. You will be teaching a small group of pupils in a specialist setting, with the opportunity to focus on individual progress, develop confidence and help children re-engage with education.

The successful Key Stage 2 Teacher will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching primary-aged pupils. Experience working with children with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or additional barriers to learning would be an advantage. You will need patience, resilience and the ability to adapt your teaching to meet different needs.

Job Role:
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
    • Adapt teaching approaches to meet pupils’ individual learning needs and abilities.
    • Create a structured classroom environment where pupils feel safe and supported.
    • Build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education.
    • Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in learning.
    • Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to provide consistent support.
    • Monitor progress and use assessment to inform planning and next steps.
    • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
In return you will:
  • Teach in a specialist SEMH setting where relationships and individual progress are a priority.
    • Have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils’ education and wellbeing.
    • Work alongside staff who understand the challenges and rewards of supporting pupils with additional needs.
    • Develop your experience within specialist education.
    • Have support from an experienced education recruitment consultant.
    • Be considered for a rewarding opportunity in Solihull.
