Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism within a KS1 classroom.
- Support the child's academic, social, and emotional development.
- Deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Support literacy development through effective use of phonics programmes and early reading strategies.
- Promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
- Previous experience supporting children with Autism (ASC) on a 1:1 basis.
- Strong understanding and experience of phonics and early literacy development.
- Strong academic background with excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Patient, proactive, and nurturing approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in a primary school setting is essential.
