SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism Provision (Year 4/5)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Autism Provision supporting pupils in Year 4/5.
This position would be ideal for an aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable experience supporting pupils within both a specialist provision and mainstream classroom environment.
The Role

• Support two pupils with autism within a specialist provision.
• Assist pupils with learning, communication, and social development.
• Support pupils within the provision during the morning.
• Accompany pupils into mainstream classrooms during the afternoon, ensuring they can fully access learning.
• Encourage independence, engagement, and positive behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEND team to meet individual pupil needs.

Requirements

• Experience working with children with autism and high-needs SEN.
• Strong understanding of inclusion and supporting pupils in mainstream settings.
• Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in teaching is highly desirable.
