Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton to recruit an experienced and passionate PE Teacher for a full-time position starting in September.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school is seeking a resilient, engaging, and compassionate practitioner who can use sport and physical education to inspire, motivate, and positively impact young people's lives.
The RoleAs a PE Teacher, you will:
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes participation, wellbeing, and achievement.
    • Build strong relationships with students, supporting both their educational and personal development.
    • Use effective behaviour management strategies to engage and motivate learners.
    • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals to support student outcomes.
    • Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
    • Previous experience teaching PE within an SEMH school or alternative provision setting – Essential
    • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice
    • Excellent behaviour management skills
    • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
    • A flexible, resilient, and proactive approach to teaching
Compliance RequirementsApplicants must hold:
  • An enhanced Child Workforce DBS
    • An enhanced Adult Workforce DBS
    • The right to work in the UK
    • Relevant teaching qualifications and references covering recent employment
