The Role
An Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Shrewsbury is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join their department from September 2026 on a full-time, permanent basis.
The role involves teaching Design Technology across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that encourage creativity, innovation, and technical problem-solving. You will support students in developing practical skills, design processes, and subject knowledge while preparing them for GCSE coursework and assessments.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, maintaining safe and organised workshop environments, and contributing to the wider success of the department.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (ECTs welcome to apply)
    • Have experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level
    • Be confident delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4
    • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
    • Be passionate about practical learning and student engagement
