Staff from a Meriden-based recruitment specialist donned brightly coloured wigs, tiaras and crowns last week to raise money for charity.
Scores of colleagues at Pertemps Network Group wore the bonkers barnets for Funky Hair Friday as the business supported the Little Princess Trust, which creates real hair wigs for children who lose their hair, often while undergoing cancer treatment.
The idea was the brainchild of Marie Quarterman, Managing Director of The Education Network, which has its headquarters on Hagley Road, Birmingham, and is part of the Pertemps Network Group.
She visited the head office to distribute wigs and other hair decorations, dropping into the board to get them to join the fun also.
Marie, who is herself battling cancer, said: “It was fantastic day and we have already raised more than £2,000 for The Little Princess Trust.
“When a child loses their hair, the Little Princess Trust is there to provide a real hair wig to help restore their confidence. Many of the children supported by the Little Princess Trust have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other conditions.
“I am so proud of my colleagues for joining in, making it such a fun a day and raising lots of money in the process.”
The Little Princess Trust provides more than 2,000 children and young people with a real hair wig each year and funds childhood cancer research.
