JOB DESCRIPTION

A Care Home Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for residents in a care home or assisted living facility. This role is crucial for ensuring that residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet their dietary requirements and preferences. In addition to cooking, care home cooks may also be involved in menu planning, food ordering, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal academic requirements. Training is provided off and on-the-job. NVQs/ SVQs in Food Preparation and Cooking are available at Levels 1, 2 and 3. Apprenticeships are also available.
