JOB DESCRIPTION

A Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machinery. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring their performance, and ensuring the quality and quantity of produced goods meet established standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal academic entry requirements, though some employers may require GCSEs/S grades. Some employers may set dexterity and aptitude tests for entrants. Normal colour vision may be required for some posts. NVQs/SVQs at Levels 1, 2 and 3 are available in a variety of areas.

  • Set up machinery according to production requirements..
  • Install tools, moulds, or other necessary components for the manufacturing process..
  • Operate manufacturing machines to produce goods as per specifications..
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed..
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards..
