Job Description
Location: St Athan
Shifts: Monday - Friday 39 hours.
Salary: DOE
The Role:
- As a facilities technician you will be responsible for all planned and reactive maintenance on all facilities across the site in a safe manner in line with all Health and Safety requirements.
- Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on building fabric, facilities equipment, and site infrastructure with minimal disruption to production.
- Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and contribute to its ongoing development and improvement.
- Carry out all required work in line with all appropriate risk assessments
- Identify ways of improving current maintenance schedule and assist in implementation of new systems
- Work with sub-contractors to ensure work complies with site requirements
- To work independently and part of team to support continuous improvement
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations
- Provide "out-of-hours" reactive support as and when required
Requirements:
- Skills and Experience:
- Experience in fabrication, welding, and basic electrical wiring
- Hands-on experience with HVAC, AHUs, boilers, compressed air systems, and water treatment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety systems, risk assessments, and CAFM/CMMS platforms
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Electrical
- IPAF
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 3 or HNC in Engineering
- F-Gas Certification
- Electrical Testing & Inspection
- Gas Safe
- Forklift
