Mechanical FitterLocation: Telford
Pay: £16-17 an hour - Dependant on Experience
Hours: Monday - Friday , with overtime available (Contract)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our clients well-established engineering business based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the assembly of high-quality machinery within a busy manufacturing environment.The RoleAs a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and machinery to a high standard while working from engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly of machinery and components.
    • Installation of hydraulic components and pipework.
    • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
    • Using a variety of engineering hand and power tools.
    • Producing high-quality work within agreed production timescales.
    • Reporting any material shortages or production issues.
    • Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
    • Completing general workshop duties as required.
    • Keeping accurate records and timesheets.
    • Assisting with forklift and overhead crane operations where required.
    • Supporting and mentoring apprentices when needed.
    • Working in line with Health & Safety and Quality procedures.
    • Undertaking any other reasonable duties required by management.

What We're Looking For
  • Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred.
    • Alternatively, strong mechanical fitting experience within a similar engineering or manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    • Understanding of hydraulic schematics.
    • Confident using engineering hand tools and power tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Flexible approach to overtime, including occasional weekends when required
