We are recruiting for a Research Manager to work within a leading University to co-ordinate the range of activities undertaken by AARM and to provide support to the Associate Dean of Research and Senior Research Manager.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
To co-ordinate the range of activities undertaken by AARM.

Support the SRM in terms of staff research.

Developing expertise in the Research Excellence Framework.

Responsible for data and reporting 

Continuous monitoring of publications and update databases of publications of academic staff within the School, and monitoring the policy impact of research.

Monitoring and advising staff, as necessary, on maintaining publication information on PURE.

Monitoring AARM financial accounts and reporting on these to the Associate Dean of Research.

Collecting and managing of research-relevant data, maintaining the Research Activities Management Pack and Research Activities Report.

Maintenance of information regarding research activity on various systems/repositories such as PURE and SciVal.

Maintaining data on internal and external peer review.

Conduct independent research and collate evidence of impact where appropriate.

Responsible for communications and dissemination of information, including event scheduling and maintenance of information on Blackboard and the research webpages.

Focal point of research queries both internally and externally.

Support the Chair of the Research Ethics Committee and Research Committee.

Liaise with RKE to support research at the school.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications - Good first degree or equivalent (English and Maths GCSE level A-C)

Experience - Substantial administrative experience in a similar role or in a professional administration within Higher Education.
                 - Finance and budgetary experience
                 - Experience of people management

Apptitude and Skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills
                              - Good organisation and prioritising skills
                              - Excellent interpersonal skills due to the need to provide excellent customer service and the line management responsibility
                               - Good knowledge of the current issues within higher education, with particular reference to research and research assessment
                               - Proficient user of IT (Microsoft Office, in particular Excel), email and the internet

Education and Qualifications - ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent

Experience - Data management and reporting within Higher Education setting

Previous experience/working knowledge of website management
