Job Description

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter / Vehicle Assembly Operative to join a friendly workshop team in Wolverhampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, fixing things and getting hands-on with mechanical equipment. Full training will be provided, so previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in vehicle mechanics, assembly, welding, fabrication or production who are keen to learn and develop their skills.

The Role
Working as part of the workshop team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assembling and fitting mechanical components to equipment and vehicles.

    • Assisting with the installation of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.

    • Using hand tools and workshop equipment to carry out assembly and fitting tasks.

    • Reading and following engineering drawings and schematics, with training where required.

    • Assisting with MIG welding activities, with training provided.

    • Carrying out general workshop and production duties.

    • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.

    • Working as part of a team to ensure work is completed to the required standard.
We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and enjoys hands-on work. You could have experience in a garage, vehicle workshop, manufacturing environment or production setting.

You will ideally have:

  • An interest in cars, motorbikes, commercial vehicles or the automotive industry.

    • Experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical work, vehicle maintenance, assembly, welding, fabrication or production.

    • A practical approach and confidence using hand tools, or a willingness to learn.

    • The ability to carry out physically demanding, hands-on tasks safely.

    • A positive attitude, good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

    • The motivation to learn new skills and develop within an engineering environment.

Full training will be provided, so we are happy to consider candidates from different backgrounds who have the right attitude and practical aptitude.

What's on Offer?
  • Full training and ongoing development.

    • A friendly and supportive workshop environment.

    • The opportunity to build a long-term career within an established engineering business.

    • An early finish on Fridays.
