We are recruiting a Purchasing controller to support a manufacturing company based on the Pensnett Trading Estate.
The main duties will be :
- Purchasing parts in accordance with customers' orders using MRP (excel based) system
- Create purchase order and supplier delivery schedules.
- Book in goods received against purchase orders and supplier delivery schedules.
- Maintaining min/max electronic stock levels
- Sourcing parts in conjunction with the Management Team support
- Scheduling new customer orders
- Attending weekly meetings including in house customer contract review and daily production meetings
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials in line with production requirements.
- To act as the point of contact for suppliers and to ensure that all products meet the requirements and deadlines of the company and the customer.
- To provide accurate and efficient administrative support for the office team.
- Process and track purchase orders to ensure timely supply of goods and services
- Maintain accurate supplier and pricing records for effective purchasing decisions
- Monitor, progress chase and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely supply of goods.
- Communicate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs.
- Support supplier negotiations to secure best prices and terms.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel - advanced user level preferred
- Strong communication, organisation, and multitasking skills
- Commercially savvy with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency
- Proven experience in a purchasing role
- Delivery focused with a can do attitude
In return we will provide a salary of salary of, £29,000 per year, working hours are 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, 8am - 2pm Friday and annual holiday 23 days per annum plus public holidays pro-rata.
