Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to provide a professional, responsive and commercially focused HR service across the business. This is an incredible opportunity to work for a family business who have been established since 1961. The role will provide first-line advice and support to managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, employment law, HR administration and management coaching.
The successful candidate will manage a varied HR caseload and provide advice on disciplinary and grievance matters, performance and absence management, family-friendly provisions, flexible working, organisational change, redundancy and TUPE.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Manage and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence matters.
- Advise on family-friendly leave, flexible working and employment legislation.
- Support formal meetings, investigations and hearings.
- Prepare accurate and professional HR correspondence and documentation.
- Coach and support line managers in managing people issues effectively.
- Identify HR risks and provide appropriate, practical solutions.
- Manage cases through to resolution, escalating complex or high-risk matters where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
- Support HR reporting, policies and wider HR projects.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with UK employment legislation and best practice.
- Handle sensitive employee information with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' generalist HR experience, or strong relevant HR administration experience with the potential to develop into a broader HR Advisor role.
- Experience providing HR advice and/or administrative support to managers and employees.
- Experience of employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence matters.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent administration, organisation and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good judgement and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and work to deadlines.
- Confident dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent or working towards a recognised HR qualification, CIPD Level 3 would also be a consideration.
- Experience of TUPE, redundancy, organisational change or consultation processes.
- Experience working within a multi-site organisation.
- Knowledge of GDPR and Subject Access Requests.
