Job Description
About the Role
Our client are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Temporary Purchasing Assistant to support our team at theirTamworth site. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced procurement environment.
Location: Tamworth
Working Hours: 37 hours/week
- Monday–Thursday: 08:30–17:00 (1-hour unpaid break)
- Friday: 08:30–16:00 (30-minute unpaid break)
- Pay: £12.84 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and expedite purchase orders for expense items according to business needs and targets.
- Track inventory orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure supplier compliance with SLA agreements for order acknowledgements, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate supplier and part information, including pricing and contact details.
- Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Team.
- Liaise with external transport providers to coordinate inbound material deliveries.
- Assist with annual stock takes as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or administrative role (preferred).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as DAX is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
