Job Title: Shoe Production Operative - Inventory

Location: Northampton

Salary: £13.00 – £14.79 per hour (DOE)

Industry: Footwear Manufacturing / Shoe Factory


We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Leather Inspector / Inventory Operative to join our busy Northampton shoe factory. This role is essential to ensuring that all raw materials and leather goods are accurately checked, stored, and managed to support smooth production.

 
Key Responsibilities 

    •  Inspect incoming leather and raw materials for quality, defects, grading, and suitability for production.
    •  Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, movement, and usage.
    •  Organise and manage storage areas to ensure materials are easy to locate and correctly labelled.
    •  Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely supply of materials.
    •  Report any discrepancies or quality concerns promptly.
    •  Assist with general warehouse or materials-related tasks as needed.

Skills & Experience 

    •  Previous experience working with leather or in a footwear manufacturing environment is highly desirable, but not essential.
    •  Must have a proven track record in inventory management, stock control, or similar roles.
    •  Strong attention to detail, especially when inspecting materials.
    •  Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
    •  Comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment.
    •  Basic IT skills for updating inventory systems.
