Quality Technician Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm (50 minute break) Paid 40.5 hours a week
Salary: £14.25 per hour (Equivalent to £30K)
Job SummaryThe Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all incoming, stored, and outgoing goods meet defined quality standards. This role involves warehouse goods inspection, preparation and maintenance of SOPs, training of warehouse personnel, record keeping, and maintenance of QA documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Warehouse Goods Quality Checking- Inspect incoming raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods as per approved quality standards and specifications.
- Verify quantity, labeling, batch numbers, expiry dates, and physical condition of goods.
- Identify non-conforming materials and initiate appropriate actions such as segregation, rejection, or corrective actions.
- Conduct routine in-process and outbound quality checks within the warehouse.
- Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and production teams to resolve quality issues.
2. SOP Preparation and Maintenance- Prepare, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to warehouse operations, quality inspection, storage, handling, and dispatch.
- Ensure SOPs comply with company quality policies and applicable regulatory standards.
- Maintain version control and ensure approved SOPs are available at points of use.
- Support continuous improvement by revising SOPs based on audits, deviations, or process changes.
3. Training and Awareness- Conduct quality-related training for warehouse staff on SOPs, quality standards, and best practices.
- Maintain training schedules, attendance records, and competency assessments.
- Provide on-the-job guidance to ensure proper implementation of quality procedures.
- Promote quality awareness and compliance culture among warehouse personnel.
4. Record Keeping and Documentation- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records such as inspection reports, checklists, deviation reports, and non-conformance records.
- Ensure proper filing, storage, and retrieval of quality records (physical and/or electronic).
- Ensure records are maintained as per document control and retention policies.
5. QA Document Maintenance- Maintain QA documents including SOPs, formats, logs, manuals, and work instructions.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and records.
- Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure timely closure.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, or other applicable quality systems (as relevant to the organization).
Qualifications- Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Quality Management Systems (ISO, GMP, BRC, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience- 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environment.
- Experience in SOP documentation, training, and QA record management is preferred.
Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of quality inspection processes and documentation.
- Good understanding of SOP creation and document control.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, documentation, ERP systems).
