We are currently supporting one of the UK leading Training Providers. The organisation is experiencing significant growth and this role presents an excellent opportunity for development and progression.

This training provider delivers a wide range of apprenticeships within Financial, Accountancy, and Business Training to companies throughout England.

We are looking for a Learner Mentor/Coach with experience in supporting learners through government-funded programs. This role may be of interest to individuals who may have come from a Teaching Assistant or Mentor role who may be looking for a slight career change.

This role has been created to support the day to day of the Apprenticeship Trainers and the delivery team.

The company offers a starting salary of up £24000, a Pension Scheme and amazing holidays of 30 days+bank holidays. This is currently a home-based position with the view to more face to face learner support soon.

The majority of the contact with the learner will be done via video chat platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, email, and telephone.

Typical duties of the Learner Mentor/Coach

" Create and maintain student records as per national guidelines - ensuring always updated and compliant
" Actively support, mentor, and motivate learners across the learner journey to help them with the timely completion of their learning aims and qualification. Contact will be varied and might include remote sessions by Teams, Zoom, email, and phone.
" Keep accurate attendance records and email learner and line manager
" Submit monthly progress reports to the apprentice line manager and other stakeholders as requested - format of standard reporting to be agreed nationally
" Formally review the apprentices' progress and portfolio quarterly at a face to face meeting with the apprentice and their line manager. Follow up with documented evidence of meeting and actions agreed and record on the learner file.
" Create and maintain student records as per national guidelines - ensuring always updated and compliant
" Manage the learner undertaking functional skills as required - this may include some one-to-one teaching if needed in Maths and English
" Set individual targets for each learner based on the capability to ensure KPIs are met
" Manage your diary so that agreed contact with learners is achieved.
" Review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard to reflect the learner's qualification and meet the needs of the qualification.
" Provide insightful, constructive, and informative feedback to help the learner maximize their potential.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications Required for the Learner Mentor/Coach

" Experience in mentoring learners in government-funded programs such as Apprenticeships or within an educational setting
" It would be desirable to have a recognised Assessors Award such as A1, TAQA, CAVA
" A teaching Certificate or Coaching certificate would also be desirable, however not essential
" Excellent all-round IT Skills includes the experience of using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and remote platforms
" Own transport and access to a vehicle
