Salary: £13 - £14 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm

Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

 

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join a busy manufacturing and engineering environment.

 

The successful candidate will have previous experience operating an overhead crane and be confident moving heavy materials safely and efficiently around a busy factory.

 

This is a long-term temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

 

The Role

• Operating an overhead crane to lift, move and position heavy materials
  
  
• Loading and unloading steel, sheet metal and other manufacturing materials
  
  
• Moving materials safely around the production area
  
  
• Using lifting equipment in line with company procedures
  
  
• Checking loads and ensuring materials are safely secured before lifting
  
  
• Supporting production and manufacturing teams with material movements
  
  
• Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries when required
  
  
• Following production instructions and health and safety procedures
  
  
• Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
  
  
• Carrying out general production duties when required
  
  

 

The Successful Candidate

• The ideal candidate will have:
  
  
• Previous experience as an Overhead Crane Operator 
  
  
• A valid Overhead Crane Licence / Certificate
  
  
• Experience operating overhead cranes within a manufacturing, engineering, steel or fabrication environment
  
  
• Experience moving heavy or awkward loads safely
  
  
• Good understanding of lifting and loading procedures
  
  
• Strong awareness of Health & Safety
  
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
