Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Technical & Design Engineer to join an expert team at Britain’s leading Tanker manufacturer. If you have a passion for engineering design, enjoy solving complex problems, and want to work in a company that values innovation, we want to hear from you.
About the Role:
You will work closely with customers and our in-house team to design and engineer high-quality tankers. From creating 2D drawings to ensuring compliance with road regulations, you’ll be an integral part of delivering projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers to understand requirements and project goals
- Produce bills of materials and detailed 2D engineering drawings (AutoCAD)
- Interpret and work with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Perform calculations for forces, moments, volumes, and weights
- Advise colleagues on design and build requirements
- Apply knowledge of steel and aluminium material properties
- Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and dangerous goods requirements
- Solve technical challenges efficiently and effectively
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–4 years’ proven experience in a relevant industry
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD 2D, Microsoft Excel, and Word
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
- Willingness to mentor apprentices and share knowledge

- Competitive hourly rate: £12.80 – £17.00 (dependent on experience)
