Pertemps Recruitment are currently hiring for a Site Support Operations Engineer for one of our clients located in Rotherham. Due to continued growth this permanent position has now arisen.
What you will enjoy doing:
Planning and managing proactive and reactive maintenance & repair activities on a range of large centrifugal and reciprocating compressors at our clients locations throughout the UK.
Working with the Turnaround team to provide additional site management and supervision support as required for the maintenance & repair of other plant and equipment associated with air separation and hydrogen plants.
You will relish achieving a successful outcome to the task in hand by working alongside local site teams and central engineering personnel and supervising and managing a range of contractors or outsource partners. A successful outcome is one where all work is carried out safely, to budget, on time and right first time (fit for purpose) with the ultimate objective of ensuring that the UK fleet of plants operate safely and to a high level of reliability and efficiency.
You won’t mind being away from home for a couple of weeks at a time, sometimes at short notice, but then enjoying quality time off!
Since good quality and reliable contractors and outsource partners are key to all our activities you will help to maintain existing relationships and identify and then develop new opportunities.
You will be passionate about the health and safety of employees, contractors, customers & the community, and the protection of the environment. Assessing and managing risks arising from your activities, materials and services, including preparation of risk assessments and method statements is a given but only goes so far, the biggest impact comes from your own behavior and leading by example.

The ability to think on your feet, be pragmatic and innovative to resolve problems quickly and efficiently without compromising safety and reliability.
You will have a wealth of experience of working with large rotating machines, supported by a good knowledge of maintenance practices and techniques along with operating & commissioning skills.
A sound engineering background, supported by relevant qualifications (which may include an HNC / HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline), will help you to quickly grasp and understand the design and intent of plant and equipment that is new to you.
Being able to pull together teams of diverse contractors and in-house personnel in a short time to work efficiently and safely together to deliver great results.
A good working knowledge of safety policies, standards and procedures including Health and Safety at Work Act, CDM Regulations, permit to work, risk assessment and contractor control.
You will have a high level of personal Integrity and that will help drive your decision making and the way you approach your role.

Annual Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 (Depending on experience).
Holidays - 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
