Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design on HVAC systems, heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic water services
• Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, technical reports, and design drawings
• Manage project deliverables from concept through construction and commissioning
• Coordinate with electrical, sustainability, and other engineering disciplines to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff
• Engage directly with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design quality
• Keep up-to-date with UK building regulations, industry standards, and emerging technologies
• Contribute to business development activities and strengthen client relationships
• Promote sustainable and low-carbon solutions within mechanical designs

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (BEng, MEng, or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (IMechE or CIBSE)
• 6+ years’ experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guides, and sustainability standards
• Proven experience in HVAC, chilled water, heating, ventilation, and controls design
• Proficient in mechanical design software (Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
• Ability to lead technical discussions and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
