Looking for a hands-on engineering role with variety, responsibility and a competitive package?
RGB Recruitment is working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to join their new operational site in Avonmouth.
This is a varied, hands-on engineering role where you’ll be responsible for keeping the site, facilities, plant and equipment operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
Working as part of the site engineering function, you’ll carry out a combination of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and improvement works, responding to issues quickly and effectively to minimise operational disruption.
Please note: candidates must be comfortable working a shift pattern which includes night shifts.

The Role
As Site Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Maintaining facilities, plant and equipment to ensure safe, efficient and compliant operation.
- Conducting regular inspections and ensuring site facilities are maintained to a high standard.
- Acting as the Legionella Responsible Person, ensuring water systems are appropriately managed in line with legislation and company procedures (training available).
- Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding, diagnosis and repairs.
- Working to agreed maintenance schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
- Using your technical knowledge to achieve first-time fixes wherever possible.
- Supporting the maintenance of refrigeration systems.
- Carrying out proactive repairs, general engineering and improvement works across the site.
- Working across a range of engineering disciplines, including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Accurately recording all maintenance activities and completed works.
- Ensuring all work is undertaken safely and in accordance with legal requirements, company policies and procedures.
- Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager and wider site operations team to maintain excellent engineering standards.
We’re looking for a practical, multi-skilled Engineer who enjoys solving problems and working in a busy operational environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience within a facilities engineering, multi skilled engineering or maintenance environment.
- Hands-on experience across a range of engineering disciplines, including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Refrigeration
- Fire & Security Systems
- Mechanical
- A strong understanding of general engineering principles.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when completing maintenance records and documentation.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving engineering issues.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- The flexibility and willingness to work a shift pattern that includes nights.
- Salary up to £45,000 per annum
