📍 Salford, Manchester

🏠 Hybrid – 2 days office / 3 days WFH
🕐 Permanent | 3–6 years’ experience
I’m currently working with a leading UK infrastructure business on an opportunity for a Civil Design Engineer to join their growing Water and Drainage team in Salford.
The team is around 10 people in Salford, with approximately 30 across the wider Manchester office, and has a strong pipeline of work across water, regulated water and drainage, including CSO and AMP8 programmes.
This is a great opportunity for a Civil Engineer with 3–6 years’ experience who wants to continue developing technically and work on major water and drainage infrastructure projects.
- Civil design and delivery across water, drainage and wastewater projects
- Producing detailed designs and technical drawings
- Working across regulated water and AMP programmes
- Supporting the delivery of CSO / storm overflow schemes
- Developing drainage and wider civil infrastructure solutions
- Working closely with senior engineers and the wider project team
- Liaising with clients, contractors and other disciplines
- Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery
- Developing your technical skills and taking on increasing responsibility
Relevant experience could include:
- Drainage / wastewater
- Water infrastructure
- Regulated water
- AMP programmes
- CSO / storm overflow schemes
- Civil infrastructure
- Civil design
- Water and wastewater networks
Experience with relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage or similar would be beneficial.
You do not need experience across both water and drainage — they’re open to candidates with a strong background in either discipline.
Salford, Manchester
2 days in the office / 3 days working from home
You don’t necessarily need to be based in Manchester. Candidates from surrounding areas, including Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Warrington, Bolton and Wigan, can be considered provided the commute to Salford twice a week is manageable.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing team working on major UK water and infrastructure programmes, with strong opportunities to develop your technical career.
If you’re a Civil Engineer with a drainage or water background and this sounds like something you’d be interested in, drop me a message or send across your CV and I’ll give you more information.
