Job Description
We are recruiting for a transport planner in Leigh!
Role Responsibilities
The shift pattern for this role is Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm.
This is a temporary to permanent role, salary of £37,000 and an hourly rate of £17.74.
Role Responsibilities
- Check resource availability for the shift by reviewing the manning levels on a daily basis
- Confirm driver start times for next day, updating the system accordingly
- Manage drivers hours in relation to customer requirements and volumes
- Monitor and report WTD issues and concerns to the Operations team
- Ensure correct equipment is planned, the system is accurate, and trailer movements are tracked and controlled
- Review vehicle utilisation, highlighting inefficiencies to Line Management
- Ensure effective control of drivers through on-going communication to ensure that performance is achieved
- Ensure effective two-way communication between Operations and Customer Services functions to identify and act on any potential service or cost issues
- Monitor and act on reports highlighting poor driving practices and inefficiencies, escalating where required
- Assist with Despatch and Debrief as directed by on shift management
- Assist in investigation of late / failed deliveries to provide root cause information to Contract Manager
- Implement actions from the Central conference calls as directed by on shift management
- Update required reports / spreadsheets daily
- Complete end of shift checks as required
- Ensure that the Shift Handover process and communication is clear and controlled
