Site Services Operative/Industrial Cleaner (Manufacturing)
Rate of Pay: £11.44 PER HOUR
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week
07:00 - 16:30 Mon-Thurs. 08:00 - 12:00 Fri
Occasional Cover Required

Purpose of role: -
Working within a manufacturing environment and within a small friendly cleaning team, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of all designated areas as directed across two factory production areas. You will use the appropriate equipment and/or materials as supplied, ensuring that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition throughout the day. You will be responsible in ensuring that Health & Safety at Work is adhered to with reference to the duty of care provision to both the general public and colleagues alike.

The Site Services Operative will be responsible for the following: -

• Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning and emptying of waste bins in production offices, production areas and stores areas.
• Cleaning communal areas such as sinks, floor areas and drinks water fountain areas daily in both factories using supplies and equipment to include the industrial walk behind dry cleaner.
• Cleaning of toilet and changing rooms and shower areas as required.
• Replenishing soap, barrier cream, skin conditioning cream, toilet rolls, and hand towels etc. as required.
• Emptying of large bins throughout production and warehouse areas.
• Cleaning of handrails and surface tops in production areas.
• Using where appropriate powered equipment. (Hoover/vacuum).
• Providing temporary cover in the laundry during holidays or sickness absence.
• High level cleaning as required.
• General grass cutting and hedge trimming.
• Low level window cleaning inside and outside
• Staff car park maintenance

Experience

• Previous industrial cleaning experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
• Ability to work to a set schedule
• Ability to work well as part of a team & without direct supervision

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing & distribution factory, which includes machining, casting, fabrications, packaging, and despatch departments.
