Process Operator – Castings
Location: Chester, Cheshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,775 per annum
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts, Monday to Thursday:
The Role;
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Process Operator to join their Castings department in Chester.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where full training, PPE, and comprehensive health and safety guidance will be provided.
This is a hands-on production role where you will be involved in the manufacture of cast products within a controlled production environment. You will work safely with heated equipment and casting processes while ensuring products meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare moulds and casting equipment ready for production.
- Safely work with molten materials as part of the casting process.
- Assist with pouring and transferring materials into moulds.
- Remove finished castings once cooled.
- Inspect cast products for quality, defects, and damage.
- Clean, trim, cut, and prepare finished castings as required.
- Meet daily production targets.
- Report any faults, defects, or safety concerns.
- Ensure machinery and operating conditions are correct before production begins.
- Complete production records accurately as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, PPE, hygiene, and operational procedures.
- Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing, casting, or heavy engineering environment (preferred but not essential).
- Experience working with molten materials or mould-based production would be advantageous but full training will be provided.
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Excellent reliability, punctuality, and attendance.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- The ability to follow instructions and safe working procedures.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
- The ability to work in a warm manufacturing environment while wearing the required PPE.
