HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver  
Location: Exeter 
Pay: £20.82 – £23.85 per hour 

Pertemps is thrilled to be working in partnership with Royal Mail, the UK’s most iconic delivery service, to recruit HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for their busy Exeter Distribution Centre. 

As part of the Royal Mail fleet, you’ll be trunking parcels and letters between depots nationwide — no multi-drop, no heavy lifting, just straightforward trunking in clean, well-maintained vehicles.  

What you’ll be doing: 

• Trunking mail and parcels between Royal Mail depots across the UK 

• Operating Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally 

• Following drivers’ hours and WTD regulations 

• Completing digital tachograph entries accurately 

• Representing Royal Mail with pride and professionalism

What we need from you: 

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 2 years 

• Minimum 180 days’ proven commercial driving experience (insurance requirement) 

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card is essential 

• No more than 6 penalty points (no DD/DR/IN/CD/TT endorsements accepted) 

• Strong geographical knowledge & a professional attitude 

• Ability to pass a DBS security check 

• Successful completion of site assessment & induction before starting

This is agency work, offering temporary ongoing assignments with regular, year-round shifts — ideal for drivers who want flexibility, choice, and excellent hourly rates without being tied into a permanent contract.
