Benefits: Company Pension

Build Something New. Shape the Market. Drive Growth.

Are you a technically minded professional with a background in welding, fabrication or engineering who is ready to take the next step into sales?

We’re working with a long-established, family-run business with over 70 years of history, operating across Coventry and Solihull, to recruit a Product Sales Manager – Laser Welding & Cleaning Technology.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing technology division and take ownership of developing a brand-new product offering across the UK and Ireland. With no existing customer base or established sales strategy for this product range, you’ll have the freedom to research the market, identify new opportunities and build the business from the ground up.

The company is the main UK distributor for innovative laser machinery manufactured in Lithuania, with both laser welding and laser cleaning machines available at its Coventry site for demonstrations and customer trials.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for driving sales of innovative laser welding and laser cleaning machinery, developing relationships with new customers and establishing the company's presence across a range of industries.

This is a hands-on, technical sales role where your understanding of the products and their applications will be key to winning new business. You’ll have access to the equipment, technical support and resources needed to demonstrate the technology and show customers how it can benefit their operations.

Potential markets include agriculture, automotive, vehicle restoration, aerospace, battery manufacturing, medical and general industrial manufacturing, alongside opportunities with local authorities and specialist cleaning businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to grow the laser welding and cleaning product range across the UK and Ireland.

    • Research the market, identify target industries and generate new business opportunities.

    • Build a customer base from scratch, proactively identifying prospects and developing long-term relationships.

    • Visit customers to understand their processes, technical requirements and potential applications for laser technology.

    • Demonstrate laser welding and cleaning machinery, showcasing the benefits and capabilities of the equipment.

    • Prepare and test welding samples using customer materials to identify the most suitable machine settings and applications.

    • Work closely with the engineering team and suppliers to develop your technical knowledge and provide effective customer solutions.

    • Manage customer enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange samples and follow up opportunities through to order.

    • Maintain accurate sales activity, quotations and customer information using CRM systems, SAP, Excel and other business tools.

    • Support colleagues with customer requirements, product assessments and technical sales enquiries.

    • Attend exhibitions and industry events to build awareness, generate leads and develop new relationships.

    • Identify opportunities to sell associated products, including welding helmets, fume extraction equipment and protective clothing.

    • Monitor sales performance, report on activity and continually refine your territory plan.

What We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in someone with a practical, technical background who understands welding, fabrication, engineering or industrial processes and is keen to apply that knowledge in a sales environment.

You might be an experienced welder or fabricator looking to move into technical sales, an engineer with a commercial mindset, or an existing technical sales professional who enjoys developing new markets.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A background in welding, fabrication, engineering, manufacturing or a related technical discipline.

    • An outgoing, confident personality and the ability to build rapport with customers.

    • A genuine interest in sales, business development and new technology.

    • The ability to understand customer requirements and explain technical products clearly.

    • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of your territory.

    • Good organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

    • A flexible, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn.

    • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to customer sites across the UK and Ireland.

Previous sales experience would be advantageous, but technical understanding, commercial enthusiasm and the confidence to develop new relationships are what really matter.

Why Join?

  • Make the role your own: Help establish a new product area and build a sales strategy from the ground up.

    • Real autonomy: Enjoy the freedom to identify opportunities, target industries and develop your own territory.

    • Innovative technology: Work with laser welding and cleaning machinery offering applications across a diverse range of industries.

    • Hands-on demonstrations: Use the company's machines at its Coventry site to demonstrate capabilities and develop customer solutions.

    • Established business: Join a family-run company with over 70 years of experience and an established presence in its sector.

    • Competitive package: Earn up to £45,000, plus a company car allowance, company pension and a bonus scheme to be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

    • Hybrid working: Work flexibly, combining time at the Coventry site with customer visits and home working.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you have a technical background, enjoy working with customers and want the opportunity to build something new within an established business, we’d love to hear from you.
