Quality Lab Technician (3-Month Temporary)
Location: Newton Aycliffe
Shift Pattern: Shift work required
Hours: 39hrs per week
Pay rate: £14.38 + £3.37 shift allowance
About the Role:
We are currently looking for a Quality Lab Technician to join our client on an initial 3-month temporary basis in Newton Aycliffe. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, focused on ensuring products meet strict quality standards through testing, inspection, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out laboratory and quality testing on site and off-site manufactured products
- Operate testing equipment and systems accurately and safely
- Ensure products meet quality standards before release for shipping
- Communicate any non-conformances quickly to relevant teams
- Analyse data to identify issues and support improvements
- Maintain accurate records and produce clear reports
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and site requirements
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
What We’re Looking For:
- Knowledge of SPC, SAP, or DPQX systems
- Familiarity with quality standards and testing equipment
- Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Awareness of EHS practices or behavioural safety programmes
- Previous experience in a quality or laboratory environment
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Good communication skills across all levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to follow up on tasks
- Basic mathematical skills and report writing experience
