A fantastic opportunity is available for a Scheduler to work on assignment at one of the UK's leading utility companies, National Grid.
As a scheduler you will assist the Operational Planner in optimisation, prioritisation, resourcing and scheduling of the Operational plan in current year, ensuring zonal targets are fully met and current year planning conflicts are prioritised and resolved as directed by the Operational Planner.
Assist Operational Planner to monitor progress against outcome targets within zone, proactively resolving escalations.
Assist in the development of a rolling and dynamic plan for all operational, unlicensed and capital works within a specified Zone; focusing on set timescales. Prioritise all works to be delivered the relevant teams.
Confirm and share with the wider business, the 90 day plan for which deliverability has been agreed.
Assist in the timely circulation of safety risk assessments where maintenance has been deferred to determine any mitigating actions which are required to meet area targets and ensure plan deliverability.
Work collaboratively with all National Grid delivery units to assist the co-ordination and management of conflict in the plan through cross functional working to determine whether the work can be adjusted to meet the outcome target as and when required and identify opportunities to flex work within the zone, escalating any issues to the Operational Planner.
Assist the re-planning of any work and manage change requests to the plan efficiently ensuring all work is re-planned.

Arranging 3rd party access to sites
Ensure all planning decisions are documented in the relevant systems and are communicated with reasoning to all relevant stakeholders
Work with process owners to drive improvements in the core planning process
Review and sign off demand at risk in a timely manner
Ensure all work has been checked for deliverability (time work duration) within Delivery Work Flow tool for the zone
Other duties as assigned to ensure operational compliance, safety and delivery within Substations or Overhead Lines
Role Specific Competencies required;
Proven ability with all Microsoft Office packages
Experience of using; Ellipse, TOGA, Click Schedule, WORTS, Delivery Workflow Tool (DWT) and Single View of the Plan (SVOP) would be beneficial but not essential
Excellent team player, working successfully in an office based team environment where the work has to be carried out in a timely and accurate manner, sometimes under pressure, exercising skill and judgement within a well defined framework
