Head of Interim Facilities – Civic Campus (Hard FM Lead)Location: Hammersmith (brand new Civic Campus)

Pattern: Full time, 4 days on-site / 1 day remote, c.100 staff, 3 direct reports
Take technical ownership of a brand new, high-spec Civic Campus, acting as the senior Hard FM lead across building services, critical plant, and complex multi-use spaces. This role targets a seasoned technical Facilities Manager who can combine deep engineering competence with operational leadership and stakeholder management
Core technical remit
- Lead the safe, compliant and efficient operation of all Hard FM services, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BMS and associated plant and infrastructure.
- Own PPM and reactive maintenance regimes, ensuring statutory compliance, optimised asset performance and data-driven decision making across the estate.
- Oversee technical interfaces for events and tenant operations, ensuring building systems, capacities and risk controls are aligned with occupancy and usage profiles.
- Challenge and manage supply chain performance (FM provider(s), specialist contractors), driving SLA/KPI delivery, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Input into life cycle planning, asset registers and technical risk assessments, supporting long-term resilience and value for money
Leadership and stakeholder scope
- Provide day-to-day leadership to a team of approximately 100 staff on site, including direct line management of 3 reports (supervisors/managers), setting clear technical and behavioural standards.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for senior stakeholders, tenants and event organisers, translating engineering risk and constraints into clear, actionable options.
- Drive a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement, embedding robust permits-to-work, RAMS, and change control processes.
- Support the ongoing mobilisation and optimisation of the new Civic Campus, refining procedures, playbooks and reporting as the building moves into steady-state operation.
Ideal profile
- Strong technical background (e.g. time-served engineer or building services/MEP bias) with significant Hard FM leadership experience in complex, multi-tenant or campus environments.
- Demonstrable track record of managing large teams, driving contractor performance and owning KPIs across compliance, uptime, energy and customer experience.
- Comfortable operating as the senior technical authority on site, making informed decisions at pace and communicating clearly with both engineers and senior non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organised, data-literate and commercially aware, with the ability to balance operational risk, user experience and budgetary constraints.
