About the RoleWe’re recruiting a Flood Risk Operations Engineer to help protect communities and strengthen climate resilience across North East Wales. You’ll lead the planning, design, and delivery of flood risk maintenance and improvement projects, managing schemes from concept through to completion.
Working closely with contractors, partner organisations, and local stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in incident response, health & safety leadership, and the long‑term management of flood risk assets.

Key Responsibilities- Deliver the annual flood risk asset maintenance programme
- Lead risk management planning and incident response readiness
- Develop and review incident response plans and operational procedures
- Scope, cost, and deliver asset improvement projects
- Manage budgets across both revenue and capital programmes
- Oversee contractors and procurement processes
- Build strong relationships with landowners, local authorities, and stakeholders
- Maintain and promote high health & safety standards
- Participate in incident response activities as required
About You- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Broad civil engineering design and construction knowledge
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015
- Experience managing projects, budgets, and contractors
- Competent surveying skills; experience using AutoCAD and GIS
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Full UK driving licence
