The Role:
You will manage your own caseload of public children matters, including care proceedings and related family law work, while undertaking your own advocacy and working closely with clients throughout the litigation process. The role will involve:
- Managing a busy caseload of childcare and care proceedings matters
- Conducting your own advocacy
- Interviewing and advising clients
- Maintaining accurate case management records and file reviews
- Ensuring Legal Aid matters are progressed efficiently, including interim billing through the CCMS portal
- Keeping fully up to date with developments in children law and practice
- Supporting networking and business development activities
About You:
- Law Society Children Panel Membership essential
- 2–3 years’+ PQE in Care/Public Family Law
- Ability to independently manage a caseload with minimal supervision
- Experience using the CCMS portal
- Strong advocacy skills
- Sound knowledge of legal aid billing and procedures
- Proactive, organised and commercially aware approach
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
