About the RoleThis role is responsible for delivering a professional, accurate, and timely claims handling service across a portfolio of property insurance claims. You will play a key part in ensuring claims are resolved efficiently, fairly, and in accordance with policy terms, while liaising with brokers, clients, and third-party providers.
Key Responsibilities- Process new claims notifications and guide brokers or clients through next steps
- Collect and assess relevant documentation to evaluate policy coverage and loss
- Handle claims in line with internal service levels, industry standards, and quality requirements
- Make timely and accurate claim decisions including reserving, updates, and payments
- Liaise with loss adjusters, brokers, attorneys, and other professionals where required
- Monitor and report on performance of third-party service providers
- Manage high-profile and complex claims with support from senior staff
- Address complaints and identify high-frequency loss patterns to support underwriters at renewal time
- Ensure recoveries and fraud indicators are reviewed and acted on appropriately
- Maintain a high level of customer service and fairness throughout the claims process
Skills and Experience Required- Previous claims handling experience is essential (Property Claims experience is a plus)
- Relevant insurance qualifications are preferred
- Strong written, verbal, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated claims product knowledge and a customer-first approach
- High attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Works well under pressure and as part of a team
