Finance Manager Location: Onsite, Glasgow
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 depending on experience

Finance Manager. This is a key, standalone role offering full ownership of the finance function within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This position will suit a hands-on, commercially minded finance professional who is confident working independently, enjoys improving processes, and can provide clear financial insight to support strategic decision-making as the business continues to expand.
The Role The Finance Manager will oversee all day-to-day financial operations while acting as a trusted adviser to senior leadership. The role is broad, varied and requires a high level of initiative, accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day financial operations, including month-end close, bank reconciliations, cashflow management and production of accurate management accounts
- Prepare financial reports and analysis for the Managing Director, providing insight on performance, margins, variances and forecasts
- Manage budgeting and planning processes, including annual budgets, reforecasts, cost control and scenario modelling
- Oversee compliance and governance, including VAT returns, payroll accuracy, PAYE and NIC submissions, statutory reporting and audit preparation
- Act as the main point of contact for external accountants and support audit processes
- Ensure timely payment of suppliers and third parties
- Prepare regular commercial and performance reports for management
- Review the creditworthiness of new clients and manage bad and doubtful debt provisions
- Drive continuous improvement across finance, payroll and credit control procedures
- Act as the first point of contact for senior-level finance and payroll matters, escalating where appropriate
- Ensure finance processes comply with relevant health and safety legislation
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in a commercial finance leadership role within the private sector
- Strong working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and payroll processes
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and credit control practices
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Qualifications
- Fully qualified or qualified by experience accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA desirable)
