Job Title: Fabrications Team Leader
Location: Alcester (B49) – relocating to Greet, Cheltenham in 2026
Salary: £40,000 per annum + Benefits
The Role: Permanent | Full-time | Mon–Thurs: 08:00–17:00, Fri: 08:00–14:00
We’re working with a well-established engineering business that designs and builds bespoke automation systems. They are currently seeking an experienced Fabrications Team Leader to manage and lead a small, highly skilled team in their internal fabrication unit.
This is a permanent, full-time role offering an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership position within a forward-thinking and growing organisation. The business will relocate from Alcester to a new, modern facility near Cheltenham in early 2026. Applicants
must be able to commute to both locations and have access to their own transport.

The Role:As the Fabrications Team Leader, you will oversee the production of precision metal components used in complex automation machinery. You’ll manage the daily operations of the fabrication unit, ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and output. Strong hands-on experience with a brake press is essential, as you’ll take the lead in its operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and lead on brake press usage, ensuring safe and efficient output
- Supervise a small team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Manage daily workflow, production scheduling, and delegation of tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment in line with 5S and H&S practices
- Ensure machinery is properly maintained and faults are escalated quickly
- Monitor quality standards and meet deadlines for fabricated parts
- Collaborate with design and production teams to align on project requirements
- Order materials and consumables in line with purchasing processes
- Accurately track project progress and timesheets using internal systems
- Address team issues proactively and escalate where necessary
- Lead by example and continuously improve processes and practices
About You:- Strong background in a fabrication/machine shop environment
- Confident operating a brake press – essential
- Proven leadership experience – able to motivate and develop a team
- IT proficient and comfortable with scheduling and reporting tools
- Familiar with Lean/5S and committed to continuous improvement
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Reliable, hands-on, and solutions-focused
- Able to commute to both current and future site locations – full UK driving licence required
