Site Fitter – Water & Mechanical Maintenance We are currently recruiting for a Site Fitter to join a small, specialist team delivering mechanical installation and maintenance services across water treatment sites within the Severn Trent region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter to step into a lead role, taking ownership of site activities and working closely with a dedicated co-fitter.
The Role You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical installation, maintenance and replacement works on customer sites, including:
- Travelling between sites and working on pumps, pipework, rotating machinery and associated mechanical equipment
- Removing and replacing worn or defective equipment, including refurbished assets
- Isolating and removing equipment for workshop overhaul when required
- Working safely in line with site health & safety procedures, including confined spaces and working at height where applicable
- Acting as a professional representative of the business on customer sites
- Completing basic job documentation and reporting electronically
Candidate Requirements- Proven mechanical fitting experience with strong practical skills
- Previous site-based experience (water industry experience advantageous)
- Ability to lead on site activities while working effectively as part of a small team
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic IT skills for job recording and reporting
- Confined space and working at height certifications desirable (training available if not held)
