Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per weekWe are currently recruiting for a Marine / Heavy Civils Engineer to join a well-established and highly respected engineering consultancy based in Belfast.
This opportunity would suit a Civil Engineering graduate with approximately 2 years’ post-graduate experience who is looking to build a long-term career within marine, coastal, and heavy civil engineering projects. You will be supported by senior engineers and benefit from structured training and clear progression.
The RoleReporting to a Line Manager, you will be involved in the detailed design and delivery of marine and civil engineering works. The role includes both head office-based design and site-based contract administration, offering excellent exposure across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the design, preparation of contract documentation and administration of construction projects under senior supervision
- Design of marine structures and associated infrastructure within commercial ports and fishing harbours
- Develop and apply knowledge of sea defences and coastal protection systems
- Preparation of technical specifications and Bills of Quantities
- Supervision of technicians in the production of detailed scheme drawings
- Attendance at design team meetings and client consultations
- Organising and attending site surveys and site investigations
- Preparation of feasibility studies, condition inspection reports and appraisal studies
- Operate in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System
- Contribute to Health & Safety documentation, including designer input to H&S plans
- Provide general civil engineering support across other areas of the business when required
