Caretaker

Role: Caretaker / General Maintenance
Location: Alcester
Hours: Full-time, flexibility to work various shifts including Nights and Weekends
Pay: £12.85 p/hr
Start: Immediate start available

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and practical Caretaker / General Maintenance Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business. This varied and hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping operations running smoothly and takes pride in a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.

Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain offices, toilets, reception areas, workshop, canteen and kitchenette
- Refill and manage stock levels of cleaning supplies and toiletries
- Carry out minor maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing, light carpentry, painting and decorating
- Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming and litter collection
- Assist with routine checks and maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Operate company vehicles and forklifts (if certified)
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records
- Respond to general maintenance and repair requests promptly

Requirements
- Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Basic understanding of health and safety and COSHH regulations
- Willingness to work flexible hours, with occasional weekend or evening shifts depending on business needs
- Practical and confident using tools and equipment
- Reliable and able to prioritise tasks effectively

Desirable Experience
- Forklift Truck licence
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
- IOSH, IPAF or PASMA certification
- First aid training
- Legionella awareness
- Basic electrical knowledge
